Cheat: Grunt B-Day Skull
Difficulty: Legendary
Level: The Arbiter
Word: Grunt Birthday Party
Effect: Shoot enemy in the head and they will explode.
The very first time you get a banshee, fly down, below you is a large beamlike structure (not to be confused with the one directly below you that turns and goes vertical) running from the arm of the station you just came out of to one exactly like it on the side opposite. Below this structure are 3 cylinders hanging down, with cylinders of light shooting out of the bottom that look like they are what keeps the station floating. If my explanation is too vague, they are the absolute lowest parts of the station. Now go to the middle engine and land on the top part of it. This and the other engines connect to the large structure mentioned earlier. The tops of the engines come up to meet the structure at an angle, where this angle is under the connecting structure and coming up to meet it, there is a place to walk (like being under a bridge). Under one side you will see the six grunts with the skull in the middle.

Hint - Arbiter's Ground Glitches
1 - Phantom Bumper Cars -- Go on the Arbiter level, then look around at the Phantoms that dropped you off. Scope in on them, and follow them as they fly away. With your eye still on them, go over to the left (the left when you started the level) and stand on the slope at the edge. If you lost track of them, an easier way is to just run to the edge, and look at the bottom of the building in the distance, it should be in front of your face if you just strafe left. Okay now for the egg. You should see three Phantoms zooming down at top speed, smashing into the building and smash into each other in a bumpercar extravaganza! After that they will spiral down until you can't see them anymore.
2 - Bouncy Weapons -- On the lift that you go down in into the Hanger, bring a dual-wield weapon with you. Activate the switch, and press Y to drop your left gun. It should bounce around the lift as you go down!
3 - Screw Up the Storyline -- My personal favourite. When you get to the part where you see the Heretic Leader through the glass, and he says, "Deal with him my brothers. I will defend the Oracle, blah blah blah." Make sure you have the Plasma Sword. Aim at the Leader, and lunge at him. Arbiter should just stop at the glass. Then, while still against the glass, do heaps of jumping, crouch-jumping and crouching, attempting to lunge him all the time. If you do it right, (it will take a few tries) Arbiter will fly through the glass at the Leader! He is invincible, but you can knock him off the edge and kill him that way, steal his Banshee, or (if you are an arty person like me,) have a look at him for drawing purposes. Be warned that if you do this cheat, you cannot finish the level, because the Phantom will sit there shooting at it, and it will not trigger any enemies or anything.

Hint - Squeeze Your Allied Slaves
On any level with allies in them, you can make a Marine or Elite live longer by giving them better guns by swapping with them.
Marines, for example, do not easily kill enemies with a pistol or an SMG. Try giving them a shotgun, sniper, or a Battle Rifle. Do not give them a rocket launcher or they will kill themselves. Metropolis is a good level to give them a rocket launcher.
Elites have shields, unlike their ally counterparts, the Marines. They can carry more weapons than Marines too. Give an Elite a carbine for headshots, a Plasma Rifle for fast gunfire, and an Energy Sword for easy killings. The Energy Swords involve charging headfirst into battle with barely anyone to cover him. An Elite might be killed that way after taking down a couple enemies, whereas an Elite carrying a gun could take cover from meters away and still kill enemies.
Grunts are like unarmored supports for you and the Elites. Trade a Plasma Rifle or Fuel Rod Cannon for their Plasma Pistols. Yes, a Grunt CAN carry a Fuel Rod Cannon or a rocket launcher. I've tried it.
Just because your allies have good weapons, doesn't mean that they are all powerful. They can still die. Help them fight and complete objectives. If any of these allies are to die with great weapons and help from you, you may revert back to the last checkpoint to save them.

Hint - Halo Contra
For those of you who have a little trouble getting through mission The Great Journey on Heroic or Legendary, here is a little game glitch to help you with that.
When you start the level you'll be helped by an Elite Leader (the Covenant team that dropped with the Arbiter). When you get into the Spectre, race up to the part where you battle a single wraith, quickly get as close as you can get to it without getting yourself and the Spectre killed, because you need that Spectre to do this glitch.
Get out of the vehicle and attempt to board it and continuously press melee until the enemy inside it dies allowing you to get in. After that, continue to the part where you fight two wraiths and a few brutes,
Let the Leader kill them and help when the drop ship shooting at you goes away. Once all the enemies are dead, tip over the Leader's wraith so that he'll fall out of it.
Then destroy his wraith, then use the Spectre (or if you can't find it go back aways and try to find it). Once you board the Spectre allow the Leader to get in and just drive in through the doors until you come to the door where the Spectre won't fit, get out, and blow it up. Then after you go through the checkpoint the Leader should go with you and through the whole battle.

Hint: Energy Sword In Outskirts
Do-able on cooperative mode. Fight through the stage to the Hotel Zanzibar (hotel next to the Warthog ride on the beach).
There is part of the hotel's building that is burned off. There is a ledge that you and your buddy can reach. Jump on your partner's head. Notice that there are pipes sticking out. Jump on one of the pipes then walk back in the little area.
Have your partner kill himself and respawn where you are (plasma grenades are best - throw straight up, and then stand on it). If you are quick, you can also use the sniper rifle and kill your buddy, then move quickly back to your spot. Make sure you (the guy on the roof) move far back enough to make the buddy spawn next to you.
Once that's done, both of you walk back out on the pipe and do a partner jump (one guy on top of another guy's head). He/she will have jump on the roof closest to them. Kill the lower player and respawn next to the higher player.
Walk futher and futher down the roof. Turn left where the roof turns and if you keep walking straight, you will come to the part where you fought the aliens and those jackals in sniper alley. Turn left again where the roof turns and walk straight but don't jump off to the lower roof. As you walk you will see a big hole in the roof somewhere. Look down and there will be a plasma sword with full energy. (Unverified)

Glitch: Floating Guns In Quarantine Zone
In the level Quarantine Zone, after the gondola ride ends and the chapter "That Old, Familiar Feeling" begins you might hear an Elite say that he hears something. You might also hear some faint static-like noise. This is the sound of two SMGs firing. To get to the source you need simply to get to the gondola the Humans were riding. The easiest way I found is to go to the end of "your' gondola nearest the gondola the Humans rode, and grenade jump from the rail to get on the structure in which some of your elites stand.
Now, jump off this structure towards the part of "your" gondola that is nearest to the "human" gondola; be forewarned that the wall toward which you are jumping is fake, and you will pass through it. Make your way from the beam of "your" gondola to the beam of the other gondola via a jump. Now you need to grenade jump over a wall to be on the main part of the "human" gondola.
As you near the exit of the gondola, and begin to enter the Library where you find a dead human you hear the static sound – the sound of SMGs firing. As you walk toward epicenter of the sound – the door leading toward the centre of the Library where the Index/Sacred Icon is found – you will see two SMGs floating in midair and firing – does this remind anyone of the level 343 Guilty Spark in Halo? You can "Hold X to swap" and the gun(s) will continue to fire in your hand. It only has one clip, so after a few seconds of it firing you just hear the trigger being pulled.
You can also juggle the weapon toward/through the door and have it shoot at you in the cut scene if you so choose. The gun fires throughout the entire length of the cut scene. Your previous weapons will not, however, hover and shoot like the SMGs you swap.

Glitch: Pelican Ride
In the level metropolis, you can ride in the pelican,(getting the sputnik skull is required). First, get to the part where you must save the marines trapped inside the building. Destroy the two wraiths and ghosts.near the wraiths are stairs.go up them and wait till a pelican arrives. As soon as the marines get off the pelican (except the gunner)hold x (there wont be a message telling you to hold x). Soon you will be in a pelican. You ride it untill it crashes into some water. Somehow, when it crashes you will still be alive, floating above water. If u go near the pelican, it will say, hold x to flip banshee(weird isnt it?). When you press it it will keep fliping for a while.if you see anyone who survived, kill them and their body will float as well as their gun. To exit this, kill yourself or pause the game and revert to last checkpoint. Remember you need the sputnik skull to do this. This glitch cannot be done in co-operative mode.

Glitch: Rooftop Hotel
In the single player level of Outskirts, you can get on top of some of the highest buildings and even on top of Hotel Zanzibar, all in about 2 minutes - thus saving time while passing half the level. When the level first starts, go out the first door, kill the solitary grunt on the ramp but don't walk out that door. Walk back up the ramp and over the door to your right (where you entered the level) is a flourescent light. Crouch jump onto this and then crouch jump onto the slanted ledge to the right of that. Look to your left, there should be a skinny hallway. This is where you would find the "blind skull" but that isn't what we're trying to do.
If you look at the entrance to that tiny hallway, you will notice a tiny, dark brown spot that is in fact a ledge. Run at this at a slight angle and tap A until it feels like you have double jumped onto the ground above that. Walk to your left and then walk across the I-Beam to your right. At the end of the I-Beam, look to your left and there will be a slanted structure coming off the building. You can crouch jump onto this to get on top of the first scryscraper. Once on top of this building, look left and you can jump onto another building. Considering that you are walking in the same direction you just jumped, walk straight to the very edge of the corner of this building. Wait a few seconds, and the Pelican will arrive where it always does, and you can jump down off of the building on top of it.
After waiting a little while, the Pelican will start flying back up. This is where you can jump off of the Pelican's right wing on to the building next to it. When you get on top of that building, you can turn right and jump the gap to the next building. Just ten feet after the gap is where the roof branches off to the left. Walk down this little stretch and at the end, jump down off the right side of it, down onto the red roof. Keep walking straight after you land, up the little ramp, un til you find a couple air conditioners. Jump onto one of them and use it to jump onto the roof to the right. Walk this roof for about 20 feet until turning left. You should see the front face of a scyscraper, but it's side is invisible (graphics glitch). This is where you will know when to turn left. Keep walking straight from here and you will fall down onto the top of Hotel Zanzibar.

Glitch: Scorpion Tank Pinball
Enter the Zanzibar map with a Scorpion Tank in the heavy vehicle spawn. Push the tank into the windmill (or drive it in). This only works if your go front first and you're on the side facing the power generating station. As the windmill pushes the Scorpion upwards, drive forwards and if done correctly, the tank will fly out of the windmill, pinballing all over the place.
Chaos
Hint: Sword/Rocket Launch
Get a sword and a rocket launcher on any level. (it can be in campaign or multiplayer). Aim at an enemy with the rocket launcher and hit the (Y) button and the right trigger simultaneously. If done right you will fly at the enemy you were aiming at.
halo masta
Hint: Huge MC
This can only be done on multiplayer. On the level burial mounds put on wraiths then have player 1 get in the wraith and drive it to the pillar that looks burnt where the ghost is. Have player 2 stand at the bottom where the pillar slants and have person in the wraith press the L trigger. This will send player 2’s dead body through the wall. If the body looks like it hits something round while it is flying through the wall then look in the sky and u will see the body in mid air as big as the arena.
Mario
Hint: Warthog Soccer
Play a round of soccer in Halo 2! In the Metropolis level, there will come a point where you must destroy two Wraiths that are laying siege to some marines in a building (just before the sequence where you must board the Scarab). Just as you enter this part of the game you will see a few marines in a Warthog battling against a couple of Ghosts. Surrounding you will be a few building and one in particular that looks as if it has been filled up with rubble. If you can manage to get inside this building, on the lowest floor hidden in the corner is a giant Soccer ball (you will need the Banshee to get there). You can then push the soccer ball out on to the road below. If you move the witches hats to make goal posts one player, in co-op mode, can commandeer a warthog, and the other can get in another and you can have a giant game of soccer.

Hint: Easy Brute Boss Fight
On the very last level in Halo 2 when you get your banshee and Johnson gets the scarab, if you shoot of your wing you can fly the banshee into the temple. This makes it impossible for the brute chief to kill you but you can kill him. This is very useful, especially on legendary when he's almost invincible.
Dax_Jendo
Hint: Snatch the Sword in Zanzibar
If you start on the beach in Zanzibar, you have to climb your way up to the sword, and that kills time. If done right, you can just toss a grenade up into the hole and the blast will propel the sword out of the whole and to the ground below. This quickly gives you one of the most powerful weapons in Halo 2.
Hint: Banshee Vs Tartarus
On the final level "Great Journey", you will have to fly the banshee. You are told to enter the door in the huge structure. Fly up to the door and exit the banshee, make your way through the tight cave like hallways and open the door. Kill the brutes in this room, make sure you kill them all, do not use the banshee, they have brute shot and are good with plasma grenades.
After clearing the room, go back to your banshee and fly through the door, immediately start flying up, and you will notice a hole, fly through it. Continue flying through the holes you see and down through the door. Make your way to the right side of the room and down the long hallway (while in the banshee). A cut scene will take you out of your banshee to where the chieftain and 4 or 5 brutes are standing, after you kill them and the chieftain jumps to the center, make a 180 back to the hallway and get in the banshee.
Fly in circles around him, blasting him with all the banshee weapons. After a while, when his shields go down, you will have to land your banshee on the bottom level and engage the chieftain, shooting him, just pissing him off. When the brute reinforcements come, get back in the banshee and continue to bomb them and the chieftain until you are victorious.
NOTE: if you have trouble at any point, for example, if it seems it is taking forever to kill the chieftain, jump out of the banshee and engage him for a few minutes, just don't get killed (but if you do, your banshee will be waiting in the same spot you got it from) after a moment of fighting him on foot, jump back in it and continue, eventually he will die and you will be a lot safer in the air then down on his level.

On the level, The Great Journey, there is a much easier, faster, and simpler way to get the Banshee in the fight against Tartarus than to try and fly it through the tunnel.
You can only do this after Johnson has used the Scarab to blast open the door to the temple. Notice there is a ring shape that surrounds and is part of the building. Also, you will see that there are lights shining from the ring shape onto the main building. Fly towards the ring shape on the right side of the temple at the same height as the door. You will see one of the lights shining onto the temple. Fly straight at the spot on the temple where the light is shining, and aim down once you have hit the building. The slower and straighter the better, or else you risk losing your Banshee.
After flying into that area, the cut scene for the battle against Tartarus begins. You have completely skipped the brute battle. When the cut scene ends, turn around and head towards the hallway which you would have come through. If done right, the Banshee will be sitting there, and Tartarus won't have a chance against you. Extremely helpful on legendary!

Hint: Dual Weapon Wields
A plasma weapon destroys shields faster and a human weapon overloads the "damage threshold" for unshielded players, thus the best combo is always an Alien-Human combo.
1.) SMG and Plasma Rifle
2.) SMG and Plasma Pistol
3.) Magnum and Plasma Pistol
But don't think that these are better than just human or just plasma. Human-Human and Plasma-Plasma weapons work good too.
1.) SMG and Magnum
2.) Dual Magnums
There is also a very wide variety of good choices between your primary and secondary weapons but that list could go on for pages so go play and learn them.

Glitch: More Ammo And Extra SMG
Note: This works in single and multiplayer.
For just testing this glitch it's easiest at the start of the first level because of all the guns lying around. First you need to find four one-handed weapons, a few of which must be the same type of gun.
To save confusion I'll just say the 4 guns are 3 SMG's and a Pistol. Pick up the Pistol and 1 of the SMG's (NOT dual-wielding) Your left hand should be empty.
Have the Pistol in your right hand and pick up one of the SMG's off the ground with your left hand. You should now have a pistol in your right hand, an SMG in your left hand, and another SMG in reserve, leaving only one SMG left on the ground.
Stand over it and even though you already have an SMG in reserve it will say "Hold X to pick up SMG" Hold X to swap your Pistol for the SMG on the ground. If you did it properly you will now be carrying all 3 SMG's, 1 in each hand and the third in reserve, giving you a maximum of 540 extra rounds rather than the usual 180, (or 360 if you dual-wield) This will work with any one-handed weapon.

Hint: Prophet Of Regret
When you get to the end of the level "Regret" you will have to fight Prophet Regret. Instead of battling all of the grunts and honor guards run straight at the prophet who is on a hovering throne. Dodge the honor guards with energy swords. Board his throne by pressing x. Use melle attacks and he will be killed within a few hits. If you are playing on hard or legendary you will have to do this multiple times.

Glitch: House Of Flying Energy Swords
This bug/trick may be used in any level (and on any mode, Campaign or Multiplayer). To perform it, you must have both a plasma sword and any other firing weapon (the rocket launcher works the best).
Equip the non-sword weapon and place the reticule over a valid target (i.e., an enemy) such that the reticule turns red. Press Y to change weapons and the instant before the sword's reticule replaces the non-sword reticule, pull the R trigger.
If timed correctly, the player will lunge forwards as if the sword locked-on the target to deliver the lunging sword strike. Note that this glitch is effective regardless of the distance between the player doing the glitch and the target.

Unlockable: Scarab Gun
There is a unique gun in the level Metropolis in the single player mode of Halo 2. It is located on top of the bridge connecting two buildings after the tunnel. One method of reaching it is to jack a banshee and fly it through the tunnel. This is much easier on co-op. Another method is to use the flying sword exploit in conjunction with the marines and the warthogs. If you are on your own I would recommend shooting the wings off the banshee before you jack it so you can easily get through the tunnel. As soon as you jack it push forward even when you’re still throwing him out, so it doesn’t blow up. Once you’re out of the tunnel fly up to the first 2 buildings with a bridge connecting them. The gun is on that bridge but its kind of hard to see so fly low over the bridge. It is in the form of a plasma rifle and fires bursts similar to those that come from the wraith.
EliteX15
Hint: Brute-Shot
The melee attack is almost as powerful as the energy-sword but it needs no power. Melee attacks are devastating especially against flood but also against jackals and other scum.

Cheat: Mythic Skull
Difficulty: Legendary
Level: Sacred Icon
Effect: Unknown
After coming down from a piston, about halfway through the level, you’ll come to a room completely filled with Flood fog. Go into the room and you’ll see a stack of crates. Jump on top (while cloaked would probably work better, so the Flood don’t notice you), and across to the next highest level. If you look in the last hole in the wall, you’ll see the skull in with a dead Flood.

Hint: Magic Sword
- This cheat requires two people, on any level in Halo 2. Note that both must be on opposite sides, but the point of this is not to kill your opponent, but rather to help him (or her.) Have your Plasma Sword in hand, and have someone jump on top of your head. While targeting them...have them jump on your head, and press x and b as fast as you possibly can, you should follow your friend up as he jumps on you...see how high you can go, or better yet, where.
- Get in the passenger side of a warthog, and target your friend and pull the right trigger. Have your friend run as far as he or she can to the other side of the level and get out. Once you do, aim where you'd like to fly and take off.

Cheat: Black Eye Skull
Difficulty: Legendary
Level: Great Journey
Word: Black Eye
Effect: Shield won’t regenerate, when you melee someone you get energy power back, so if you melee someone you get a little bit of shield. So you can get a bit at a time all the way to overshield!
SGT Johnson will pilot the scarab and shoot at a building I am calling the Control Tower. If you take a banshee to the tower you will notice that, aside from where spires jut out of it, it has a round slope all the way around. If you take the banshee right up to the slope and as high as you can go, you can almost get over it. Here you must jump out of your banshee to land on the less steep part of the slope. If you turn your banshee to the side or all the way around, it may make it easier to land on the less steep part. Also, try to have your banshee land on a platform below, so you can use it to get back. Once you are on the slope, climb the rest of the way up it. If you are on the right of the door, then you have to jump onto the ledge next to the main part of the building, and then walk up a steep part in the direction of the door. Walk up that, then around and down on the other side. On this side (left of the door from scarab's perspective) you can walk onto the hills and grass. You will notice several angled spires, some of which connect to the building. You must climb the one that is directly opposite the door you would use to enter the tower. It's steep but you can walk up it. I suggest jumping while walking to speed up the process. At the top is a skull which gives you the "black eye" effect - you only recover shields by meleeing enemies. This is only found on legendary. Reverse the process to get back to your banshee (hopefully) or just jump off a cliff and the effect will stay with you.

Unlockable: Foundation Multilplayer Map (w/ Glitch)
Unlock the hidden Foundation level in Halo 2 multi-player by completing the single player campaign on any difficulty. Due to a serious glitch in the game (and one that will not be corrected), you will need to do the following to unlock the Foundation map for a specific profile:
- Start a co-op game with a profile with access to the last episode (The Great Journey) and a completely fresh profile (i.e., one that has not even started the campaign game).
- Fight to through the last episode until the players need to board Banshees to progress.
- Have the new profile player perform a barrel roll (both directions) and a Loop-the-loop (stick down and A button).
- Complete the game as usual and the new profile will have access to the Foundation Map. Since profiles may be renamed, you can delete your old profile and rename your new profile w/ the new map.

Hint: Destroy the Ghost
Facing the Ghost from behind, to the left, behind the left wing is an alien gas tank shaped like a circle. It's only on the left side. Shoot it 3 times with pistol or 1 time with the shotgun and say good bye to it.
Hint: Reset Thy Ammo
Expended all your ammo at the end of one stage and don't have enough to muscle past the start of the next one? Save and quit your game -- provided you acutally unlocked a new stage on the Stage Select, you can head back into your campaign (via stage select) and get a fresh batch of pre-assigned weapons for Master Chief.
Co-op players already know from Halo 1 that your partner and you can kill one another (one a time) to restart with an initial ammo load when you started the stage.

Unlockable: Blind Mode
At the beginning of the episode Outskirts, go through the first opening but do not head down the ramp. Instead, jump up onto the flourescent lamps over the doorway. From there, you can jump-crouch-jump onto the sloped roof to the left (jump and hold the crouch button at the peak of the jump to get onto the ledge).
Once on the rooftop, look for a narrow alleyway directly to your left. At the end of the alleyway are some grenades and a skull. Picking up the skull (hold the X button) will unlock blind mode, which removes all traces of your HUD from Halo 2 single player. To get them back, save and quit. Then choose Cairo station, save and quit and then choose the level Outskirts.

Hint: Tank Weak Spots
The two tanks in Halo 2 have different weaks spots (and strong points). The human Scorpion tank has a turret that is almost invincible; it's naturally vulnerable in the body and the four tread motors (which count against its hull integrity).
The alien Covenant Wraith has a very strong glacis (the front armored bulge where the pilot is). Consequently, it has a very weak rear.
Rockets affect both tanks as if the weakest facing is used, meaning two shots will knock out any tank.

HALO-IGN IS GOD
Hint: Vehicle HWP Shot Table
Number of shots to destroy a vehicle in Halo 2:
- Ghost - rocket x1, gauss x1, grenade x1, sniper rifle x8
- Spectre - rocket x1, gauss x2, grenade x2, shotgun x6 (close)
- Warthog - rocket x1, gauss x2, grenade x2, shotgun x6 (close)
- Wraith - rocket x2, gauss x3 (front), gauss x2 (back), grenade x13, tank shot x2
- Scorpion - rocket x2, gauss x4 (body/tread), grenade x15, tank shot x2
- Banshee - rocket x1, tank shot x1, shotgun x6, brute shot x4 (impact)
Hint: Vertical or Horizontal Splitscreen
In a two-player splitscreen, Halo 2 will automatically change whether it's a verticle or horizontal split, depending on whether your Xbox is in widescreen or normal mode. In widescreen, the screen will split vertically (one screen on the left, one on the right). In normal screen (4:3 aspect ratio), the screen will split horizontally (one screen on top, one on bottom).

How To Find: When you get to the area where you see the Phantom overhead (one of the marines will point it out) jump over the rocks and keep following the path on the right. When you get to the cliff there will be a rock over of the side. The skull is on the end of the rock.
Note: This skull has to be Activated before you start a Campaign map.
*
Iron Skull

Where to Find: Sierra 117
How to find: In the area where you rescue Sarge, behind the prison cell is a large ledge. Got to the far right side and jump on the boxes, then onto the pipes to get up on the ledge, goto the far end of the ledge, turning two corners the skull is at the far end.
*
Tough Luck Skull
Effect: Enemies do saving throws
Where to find: Tsavo Highway
On Tsavo Highway, about halfway through the mission (right after you are forced to walk through a large blue barrier), you will come out of a tunnel on the highway, and see a large pipeline on your left. Drop down in between the two, and run to the wall in front of you. Follow the wall all the way to where it connects with the cliff on your right, and turn to the left. There should be a few ledges--simply crouch jump from ledge to ledge, and the last one should have the "Tough Luck" skull on it.
*
Mythic Skull
Effect: Every enemy on the field now has double their normal amount of health.
Where to find: Halo
How to find: As soon as the mission starts walk up the hill in front of you and into the cave. Hug the right side of the cave and after a large boulder you will see a path on your right, just take the short path and it will be at the end.
*
Cowbell Skull
Effect: Explosive force increased (sputnik from H2)
Level: The Ark
Location: First pick up a grav lift from the small building near where you fight the scarab. Now proceed through the level until you reach the second sloping hallway (stairway), you should see some partitioned risers (platforms) halfway down. The skull is on the top level. Toss the grav-lift on the right side of the hall so it lands on the fourth little green dot from the door. Then run, jump, and use the grav-lift to propel you to the top. You should reach a ckeckpoint just as you enter the room so it you miss just try again.
*
Thunderstorm Skull
Mission: The Covenant
Effect: "Field promotions for everyone!" -- Upgrades enemies to their stronger versions.
After you shut down tower 1 and get access to the hornet, fly to tower 2 (the one the arbiter shut down). While walking up the stairs, go to the middle part that connects both and there should be a stair leading up to a platform where the skull is.
*
The 7 Terminals
The Ark:
1. Start the mission and once you enter the first building take a left into another door and now you should be in a curved corridor. On the inside is a Terminal.
2. After activating the bridge to let your comrades accross the gap, do a 180 and you should see it. (it does not open until you activate the bridge)
3. In the third building after defeating the scarab, kill the group of sleeping covenant, then follow the corridor downwards. Once you reach a door in front that is locked, immediately on the left there's an open door. Go through and walk straight off, then do a 180 to find a secret room. It is in there.
The Covenant:
1. When in the first tower standing on the lift, face the access panel and turn left. Jump over and it's right there.
2. Land your hornet on the second tower, walk towards the entrance but when you see the locked door, do a 180. Should be right in front of you.
3. When in the third tower standing on the lift, face the access panel and turn right. Jump over and it's right there.
Halo:
1. After reaching the end of the first cave, hug the right wall and you will see a building. Jump up onto the walkway and hang a left once inside. It's right there.
*
Fog Skull
Mission: Floodgate
Effect: "You’ll miss those eyes in the back of your head." -- Your motion sensor disappears.
As you are walking down from the anti-air gun you destroyed in the previous mission, you encounter a ramp (next to a missile launcher). Around this ramp, you hit a checkpoint. At this point, you should also hear a marine yelling, “There! Over There!”. Look up and to the right, directly at the roof of the building next to the missle launcher. There is a single flood form (not to be mistaken with the two other flood forms jumping in front of you) which is holding the skull. Kill him before he jumps, and he will drop the skull down to the ground where you can retrieve it. Too early, and the skull will get stuck on the roof though, so just time it carefully.
*
Famine Skull
Mission: The Ark
Effect: "Trust us. Bring a magazine." -- Dropped weapons will have very little ammo compared to normal.
When you first go into the valley to the right after the wrecked phantom, look to your left where you will see a huge boulder. Use a ghost and get to the side of the boulder that is closest to the bridge overhead. It is easy to pilot the ghost up the side of the wall using the thrust. To get the skull, pilot 2 ghosts up the wall to the top of the bridge and stack them one on top of another next to the beam where the skull is placed. Simply jump from the top of the ghosts towards the skull and land on the beam.
*
Tilt Skull
Mission: Cortana
Effect: "What was once resistant is now immunity" -- Enemies have different body parts that may be resistance to certain bullet types
When in the circular type room with all the flood look for a small structure piece next to two archways, jump on top if it and up on the rocks to the top left, turn left and jump up again, then do a 180 and jump to the rocks across from you. After that follow the the rock sticking out and leading up on top of of the original circular room, the skull will be in a pile of blood.
*
IWHBYD Skull
Mission: The Covenant
Effect: "But the dog beat me over the fence" - Unlocks bonus dialogue throughout the game. For most, this is the last skull, so this gives you the Hayabusa Helmet as well.
To get this, get to the room where you "fight" the Prophet of Truth. Let the Arbiter kill him, turn around, and kill all the Flood here as well; makes it a LOT easier. With all obstacles out of the way, you need to jump through the Halo holograms here in a specific order, listed below:
4 6 5 4 5 3 4
When you jump through the final hologram, they all light up in a sequential pattern. The Skull will be at the end waiting for you right before the energy bridge leading to Truth's corpse.
*
Catch Skull
Effect: all enemies have 2 grenades, throw more grenades
Level: The Storm
Location: From the start, go through until you go outside again. When you go outside look straight across there is a small round building straight out there, the skull is on top. In order to get up there you can either use a warthog as a platform or grenade-jump. DO NOT destroy the wraith near the door or the skull will disappear.
*
Orbital Skull
Load up Orbital in forge mode, find the open area (the place with the two traffic cones and a pit you can fall down). In monitor mode (press up on the d-pad), fly all the way to the top and the skull is lying on a vent in one of the corners.
*
Assembly Skull
Load up Assembly in forge mode and go into monitor mode (press up on the d-pad). There are two "arms" attatched to the centre building. In monitor mode, fly up and into the small opening at the top of the arm (it's one of the two).
*
Sandbox Skull
In Sandbox, fly to the heighest possible point in the map. Look around till you can see the sun (not the "red light" on one side of the map) on the horizon, inbetween two Guardian towers. Turn right and face inbetween the next pair of Guardian towers (so the tower on the right of the sun is now the tower on the left). The skull is located outside of the map in this direction. If you are having trouble spotting it, try and use the zoom of a sniper rifle or beam rifle. There are several methods of obtaining the skull. You can use bubble shields, tube pieces and shield doors to form a tunnel, or you may fly over the skull and drop a teleporter exit so you can teleport to it directly. There are also several maps you can download on fileshare to gain easy access to the skull.
*
Longshore Skull
In forge mode, look for a red sign with a fish on it. It says "Fronks". Fly right up to it in monitor mode, then turn right. You should find an air vent. Fly over to it, and the skull should be at the bottom. Go higher then turn back into your character whilst holding the RB button to grab the skull on your fall down to the ground. Alternatively, use items as platforms to reach it.
*
Heretic Skull
In forge mode, fly to the top of the room in monitor mode. Go the platform with the sword on it. It’s shaped like a letter c or pacman. Turn right and fly over to the open room. Place a grav lift just before you enter it and jump, the skull is on a ledge just above the doorway, just in front of some vents.

Citadel Skull
In forge mode, fly around the map until you find the corridor with the overshield powerup (red). Go to the right side of the power-up (facing the power-up from the middle of the map) and stop just past the doorway. Turn around to face the power-up and stack up items (red and blue crates work best, usually about 3 or 4). Jump on top of the items and you should be able to grab the skull if you jump into the missing space on the ceiling.

*

*
Blind Skull

Stage: First Stage

*
Citadel Skull
In forge mode, fly around the map until you find the corridor with the overshield powerup (red). Go to the right side of the power-up (facing the power-up from the middle of the map) and stop just past the doorway. Turn around to face the power-up and stack up items (red and blue crates work best, usually about 3 or 4). Jump on top of the items and you should be able to grab the skull if you jump into the missing space on the ceiling.

Hint: Goron Pep Talk Reward
After taking the small Goron to Castle Town (see our guide for more on this Force Gem) you eventually be able to strike up a conversation with him that goes something like this: He tells you he is discouraged by city life and spent all of the money his grandfather had given him. Choose to tell him to "Cheer up." The Goron child will perk up and then the game will give you 2 more choices. Pick the top one. The young Goron will thank you for the pep talk, and give you Goron Amber.

Unlockable: Spirit Flute Songs
The Spirit Flute can be used to play songs for various effects at any time when you select it from the item menu (far right). Songs can be found throughout the dungeons, villages and other areas of Spirit Tracks. They reside in stones shaped like Rocket Ships (called "Air Stones"). When you tap these stones, the song will play and colored spheres showing the correct notes on the flute's scale will stream from the rocket stone. Take out your flute and play the song shown to memorize it. You can refer to songs in the Collection menu. Here is a list of the songs and their uses:
- Song of Awakening // LIGHT BLUE, RED
Location: The Forest Sanctuary
Learn this song in the western area of the Forest Sanctuary. The Song of Awakening wakes up the one-eyed, bunny-eared stone statues, called "Gossip Stones," found in the dark recesses of Hyrule. These statues provide Link with clues about treasure among other things. - Song of Healing // LIGHT GREEN, WHITE, LIGHT GREEN
Location: The Forest Temple
The Air Stone with this tune is on the train platform at the beginning of the Forest Temple, Floor 1. You can use the Song of Healing to restore all of your hearts once in a dungeon. After using it, you must exit the dungeon before you can use it again. - Song of Birds // DARK BLUE, ORANGE, DARK BLUE
Location: Papuchia Village
You'll be forced to learn this song on your quest for Carben, the Ocean Sage. The Song of Birds summons birds to your side. This works on cuccos, doves and the birds that carry grapple points for your whip in the southwest region of Papuchia Village and in the Ocean Sanctuary. - Song of Light // DARK BLUE, YELLOW, RED, LIGHT BLUE, WHITE
Location: Trading Post
This Air Stone is sitting near Linebeck's grave in the northern portion of the Trading Post. The Song of Light makes diamond-shaped crystal objects glow and emit a ray of light. You'll have to use this to solve certain puzzles. - Song of Discovery // RED, YELLOW, RED, LIGHT BLUE
Location: Anouki Village
An Air Stone in the center of Anouki Village holds this song. Play the Song of Discovery to reveal treasure chests and other things (like stairs) hidden in certain areas. Check circles of boulders, for instance, or the base of trees. Usually you'll have a clue about the location of the hidden object from a map or a bunny-eared Gossip Stone (see the Song of Awakening).

Often, when fighting big enemies with a huge HP bar, Stagger is indispensable. But a lot of times, it's hard to get the chain gauge started, especially on weaker enemies, because their Stagger goes back down to 100% very fast. The way to keep it going up takes a little practice, but will be very handy in finishing fights fast. First, it is necessary to make all of your party members go into commando or ravager (this is usually labeled Relentless Attack or something of the likes in the Paragdim menu). Then, go to auto-attack, and attack your desired enemy. Then, go auto-attack again, but instead of attacking right away, highlight the enemy, but do not push X. Wait until your other party members finish their attacks, and then launch yours. After that, keep attacking as fast as you can. This times your party's attacks so that there is a continuous stream of attacks as opposed to a lot of attacks at once. So whenever the chain starts to go down, another attack forces it to go up, thus stopping it from resetting to 100%. As the Chain Gauge gets higher, it takes longer to reset, so you can afford taking a bit of damage from other enemies. In Stagger, the enemy will often not move, but bigger foes will. What Stagger really does is knocks down all of the enemies defenses and makes them very vulnerable to any attack. The instant you get to the Stagger percentage, a big flash will announce Stagger, and your enemy will glow yellow. Any enemy that is Staggered will also have their name appear in a yellow capsule when you have to select a target for an attack as opposed to a blue one. When Stagger is activated, the Chain Gauge bar doubles as a timer. The bar is filled to start, and slowly depletes. When the bar is completely gone, Stagger has reset. And if the enemy survives until a Stagger reset, then that enemy must be strong, so take advantage of your Medic here (it is advantageous to have both Vanille and Hope as Medics) until your party's health is back up. Then go into Relentless Attack mode again, and achieve Stagger as soon as possible.

The Eidolons are probably one of the hardest opponents you'll come across, but the good news is, if you beat them, they'll join you as FF13's new summons. Here's how to beat the first two you'll come across.
*note* Each Eidolon fight is set to a certain amount of time portrayed above the character's head. You MUST complete the challenge in that time or you'll have to retry.
Shiva Sisters:
To beat the Shiva sisters, you should have the role "Sentinel" by now. When the Shiva sister leaves herself open, strike while you can. This won't raise her gestalt gauge much, but it will help a little at least.
Then, when you see her throw her hands out and her weapon spins above her head, active Sentinel now. Then, right when she goes to strike, use Guard (or whatever the ability is) to defend from her attack. This will cause the gauge to rise VERY noticeably. Continue this process with good timing, and you'll have the sisters as a your first summon.
Don't worry about the other sister watching the battle. She won't strike, but she will continuously heal you so you can't lose unless you fail to fill the gauge.
*note* Only Snow can summon the sisters, as each character has one summon specific to them.
Odin:
Odin was much easier than the Shiva sisters. All you have to do is make sure you have a paradigm with "Commando" and "Ravager", as he's weak against magic, which the Ravager uses. It wouldn't hurt to occasionally active a paradigm with "Medic" in it, but always make sure you switch back to Ravager as soon as necessary.
In this particular fight, it's okay to attack head on with the Commando, mostly due to your Ravager inflicting great damage with their magical attacks. Synchronize your attacks witht the Ravager just right, and you will claim victory of this Eidolon in just a few minutes at most.
*note* Odin can only be summoned by Lightning.

when get the Lionheart weapon for Lightning, level it up to maximum. Used 20 fragrant oil for minor xp boost, and 1 Ultimate Reactor (which you can buy for 50000 gil at the R&D shop section later in the game) to instantly level it from 1 to max level. The reactor gives a standard 44000 xp. Next use a Scarletite to transform the Lionheart, into a level 15 Ultima weapon.

Eidolon Battles
Eidolon: SHIVA
Character: SNOW
Chapter: 03
Strategy: In order to impress Shiva, switch the Paradigm Shift to Sentinel. Have Snow use Steel Guard all the time and wait for the Gestalt Meter to fill up. Don’t worry about your health because Striria (Sister of Nix) will heal you.
Eidolon - ODIN
Character: LIGHTNING
Chapter: 04
Strategy: This is one of the hardest fights you will encounter so far as Odin is fast and deadly. Before entering the battle, make sure that you changed your Battle Speed under Settings to Slow. The key to fill up the Gestalt Meter fast is when Odin sees a lot of healing and chaining up your attacks. Start off with Hope casting Protect and Shell then change the Paradigm Shift to Dual Casting allowing both Lightning and Hope cast magics. When you see one of your characters HP is low, switch to Yin & Yang Paradigm to allow Hope heal Lightning while she’s still attacking with a magic.
Eidolon: BRYNHILDR
Character: SAHZ
Chapter: 08
Strategy: Start off by having the characters switch their Paradigm to Saboteur and Synergiest. Have either of the two cast Vigilance and Haste. If the HP runs low on either of the characters, change the Paradigm to War & Peace to have one of the characters use Cura or Cure. The main key to this battle is to chain up the Chain Gauge. Do it by always focusing on Dual Casting Paradigm to have both characters attack with magic (Ravager).
Eidolan: BAHAMUT
Character: Fang
Chapter: 10
Strategy: Making a pact with Bahamut is a very challenging one as it attacks rampantly. Focus on the health of your party. I suggest to have someone in your party cast Shell and Protect to lessen the damage that you get from Bahamut. Start off by debuffing Bahamut. Have one of your party be a Sentinel (preferably Fang) and the two becomes a Ravager. Keep on attacking Bahamut until the Gestalt Gault fills up
Eidolon: ALEXANDER
Character: Hope
Chapter: 11
Strategy: Make sure Hope has a lot of HP by this time as he will be the Party leader. Start off the battle with Alexander by shifting to Delta Attack Paradigm. Have Fang be the Sentinel while Hope and Lightning do the attack. When you see the party’s HP drop significantly, switch to Combat Clinic Paradigm to do the healing. Keep on doing it this until the Gestalt Meter fills up.
Eidolon: HECATONCHEIR
Character: Vanille
Chapter: 11
Strategy: With only Vanille and Fang fighting this Eidolon Battle, it can be tough. Start off the fight by having Vanille be the Ravanger and Fang be the Sentinel. Keep attacking Hecatoncheir with Vanille’s Magic and watch his Chain Gauge goes up. When the HP runs low, change to a Medic Paradigm and have Vanille heal and switch back to the first strategy. Keep on doing this and the Gestalt Meter will go up
